GOOGLEFINANCE showing the wrong price?
If the number doesn't match your broker, it's almost always one of three things — the delay, the currency, or the exchange. Here's how to tell which, and how to get the real price.

GOOGLEFINANCE uses exchange-delayeddata — typically 15–20 minutes behind for US stocks. During market hours that's enough for the price to visibly differ from your broker's live quote, and on a fast-moving day the gap looks large. It isn't wrong, it's late.
2. It's a foreign listing in the local currency
For a non-US stock, GOOGLEFINANCE returns the price in that exchange's currency — pence on the LSE, yen in Tokyo, won in Seoul. If you compare that to a USD figure it looks “wrong.” Make sure you're using the US-listed ticker, or add the right exchange prefix like "NASDAQ:AAPL".
3. The ticker is ambiguous and resolved to the wrong exchange
The same symbol can exist on several exchanges. Without a prefix, GOOGLEFINANCE picks one — and it may not be the listing you meant, so the price is for a different security entirely. Always qualify it: =GOOGLEFINANCE("NYSE:BRK.B").
4. The value is stale — the sheet hasn't recalculated
GOOGLEFINANCE only updates while the sheet is open and recalculating. A tab you left open yesterday can show yesterday's number until it refreshes. Re-enter the cell, or check File → Settings → Calculation. (More in GOOGLEFINANCE not updating.)

Notice the common thread: three of the four aren't typos — they're baked into how GOOGLEFINANCE gets data (delayed, in the listing's currency, from a guessed exchange). You can work around each, but you can't make the number current.

Why is my GOOGLEFINANCE price different from my broker?
Most often the 15–20 minute exchange delay: GOOGLEFINANCE uses delayed data, so during market hours it lags your broker's real-time quote. Other causes are a foreign listing quoted in its local currency, or an ambiguous ticker resolving to the wrong exchange.
Is GOOGLEFINANCE real-time?
No. Its prices are exchange-delayed by about 15–20 minutes for US stocks and only recalculate while the sheet is open. So a mismatch with a live quote is expected, not a bug.
Why does GOOGLEFINANCE show the price in the wrong currency?
