Do I need to sign up?
Not to try it. Open the sheet and start right away — free, real-time, no sign-in needed. Sign in to sync your sheets across devices, or when you're ready to upgrade for more sheets and symbols.
Why use this instead of a regular finance app?
It's real-time and free, and it lives in a spreadsheet — so you get live stock and crypto prices and a full portfolio tracker with no formulas, no ads, and no 20-minute delay like GOOGLEFINANCE. And because it looks like an ordinary spreadsheet, you can keep a quiet eye on the market without catching the eyes around you — especially at work.
How is this different from GOOGLEFINANCE in Google Sheets?
GOOGLEFINANCE (and Excel's STOCKHISTORY) is delayed — quotes lag up to 20 minutes — and you build it with formulas. Stealth Quotes is real-time on every plan with no formulas to write: type a ticker and the live price fills in. You also get crypto, a built-in portfolio tracker (XIRR, dividends, vs the S&P 500), and a one-tap discreet mode — none of which a spreadsheet formula gives you.
Do I need to know spreadsheet formulas?
No. Type a ticker in column A and the live price appears — no functions to memorize. If you want them, real spreadsheet formulas still work (SUM, IF, cell references), but nothing here requires one.
Are the prices real-time?
Yes — every plan is real-time, including Free, with optional Live auto-refresh on every plan too. Paid plans just add CSV import and room for more symbols and sheets.
Can I see extended-hours prices?
Yes, on every plan. When US markets are closed, the sheet shows the latest pre/after-market price for stocks when there's trading (extended-hours data can be sparse for thinly-traded names). Crypto trades 24/7, so it's always current.
What can I track?
US stocks, ETFs, mutual/index funds (incl. 401k target-date funds), and crypto in real time, plus commodities (gold, silver, oil — as ETFs or spot), major forex pairs, and foreign stocks from ~30 markets (Europe, Korea, Taiwan, India, China, Canada, Brazil, and more) at their daily close — all shown in USD. Type any ticker in column A, or search a company or fund name; crypto uses a .X suffix (for example, BTC.X). Keep separate lists on their own sheet tabs.
What's a sheet?
Each tab at the bottom is a sheet — its own list of symbols. Keep "Tech" on one and "Crypto" on another and switch with a click. Add your shares and a sheet becomes a portfolio.
How many stocks can I track?
Each sheet holds up to 5 symbols on Free, 10 on Basic, and 100 on Pro. You can keep several sheets too — 2 on Free, 5 on Basic, unlimited on Pro — each on its own tab.
Can I track my portfolio?
Yes. Enter your shares and average cost and the sheet tracks value, weight, dividends, and gains — with a running total across every brokerage in one place. No formulas to set up. The full portfolio tracker is free on every plan — paid plans just add CSV import and more room. The columns are off by default, so the sheet stays minimal until you want them.
Can I customize how it looks?
Yes. Double-click the document title, any tab name, or the initial in the top-right circle to rename them — call it "Q3 Budget," name the tabs to match, set your own initial. You can also type real text in any cell and format it — font, size, bold, alignment — so the whole thing reads like genuine work.
Do prices update on their own?
Only if you want. By default they stay still until you refresh (F5 or F9). Every plan also includes an optional Live auto-refresh that updates a cell only when the price actually changes — so it stays calm when the market is quiet. Toggle it anytime.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It's just a website — no app, no browser extension, no download. It works in any browser.
Is my data private?
We store only your email and plan. We never sell your data, and payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your card. Your sheets stay in your browser unless you sign in to sync them.

Market data is provided by Twelve Data and CoinGecko. It's for informational purposes only and isn't financial advice.
